WHAT SHOULD I DO?!?!?! Is he wrong or am I?

Ok my boyfriend and I have been dating for over 3 years, we fight all the time we got in a fight the other night and he said mean things. I said lets talk about them the next day he blew it over and would not talk. Then today he said he would talk about it with me our talk ended up turning into an argument where he had said that if somebody else came along he would have been way done with me. He also said he hated me and just about everything about me. I started to cry he said we are no longer together. Then after our fight he sent me a text saying i love you jess but i am pissed...but nothing after that except I know what the problem is then when i said what he said nvm. So my question is if he wants to try to get back with me should I forgive him for the hurtful things he said.
