I bought Talapia that was packaged with Carbon Monoxide. What gives?

MAP (Modified Atmospheric Packaging) makes fish look and smell good when it is in fact spoiled and very old. I will not ever eat spoiled fish or meat or lettuce again. Sam what is Wal*Mart doing?
